Night Shade is a set design and fabrication studio by Amber Thrane. Specializing in production design and set decoration for film and television in New York, Amber incorporates hand-made, artisan and custom pieces into her work for the screen.

Hand-painted lampshades and re-worked vintage lighting are a staple of this design. These pieces originated to bring unique flair to sets — to paint images with light — to define a character and tell a story. From this, the Shade Shop was born: tailor-made pieces to bring the same style and whimsicality to your living space.
